  This is a place that changes people. Broken, hurting, seemingly destroyed lives are mended here through the love of Jesus that is shared daily by the staff. Each individual that experiences Freedom Village will take something different away from it depending on what they are truly seeking and how honest they are about what they need in their life. Those who open their heart to the Lord find true joy and peace here that they have never experienced before. God has worked many miracles in the 30+ years that this ministry has been serving Him and I will continue to pray for many more years and many more lives to be blessed by it.

  I am the grandparent of a student recently enrolled at Freedom Academy.
  My student was very apprehensive about committing to the program -- wishing rather to return to his old neighborhood and friends -- good kids unfortunately making poor choices. I'm convinced my grandson decided to 'try' FA on the strength of the testimonies of students currently in the program. At a pivotal moment in the enrollment process with everything hanging in the balance, 2 students rushed to his side and shared their stories. No adult voice carried the weight of those teens at that moment. Their genuine testimonies, love and support were pivotal in helping my grandson agree to stay. Scripture says "In the mouths of 'children' God has perfected praise!' I can't thank the students of Freedom Academy enough for being used of God. Continue to grow in God's grace and in the knowledge of His Word and will for your life. This world needs you! In the words of Keyon Lomax (life coach and motivational speaker) -- 'Your birth is evidence that your presence is necessary!' Special thanks to the staff as well for the nurture you give our precious children. God's speed!

  Incredible academy that changes lives and prepares young people for a better future. Freedom Academy in New York helps troubled teens get back on track and has been doing so for decades. They won't let you down. Don't believe the negative reviews by people who are just trying to close down all Christian boarding schools. I've seen these same negative reviews for other programs, repeated again and again. They are simply untrue.

  Ive read these reviews and was there in 92-93 Pastor Brothers dished some tough love...but he was fair...I can see him being a little too tough for some people I found his "public humiliations" humorous, the girls would sit in the back of the church so like getting in a little trouble would earn you some smiles from the girls you were not aloud to look at so there was some reward... I think brothers passion is helping kids and now almost 40 years old I see no other motive. I got tired of the rules and knew what I was going to do as a kid so I ran to get sent home but the program taught me a lot of life skills.
